What's a post without a pic?

Here are the photos...the old and the new...or shall I say the "new" and the "old"...that's right, the house we're buying is 30 years older than the house we're selling...go figure!

BIG NEWS!!!

This may be a little pre-mature and I might even pass out before I get this written, but we have decided to move back to the valley. We LOVE the Heber Valley and ALWAYS will. We have met so many wonderful people and we will miss them so much! But, we won't miss the trips up and down Parley's Canyon nearly every day --and we are so excited to be closer to our family!!! I'll keep you all posted on the details, but it looks like a done deal...we found a house that we fell in love with and decided to go against our better judgement and buy it before our Heber home is sold...scary--I know. Wish us luck and pray for us--we'll need it!!!

Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar???

A quick update since we are very behind on updating this blog...we're alive and well!!! Lydia is 7 months old and loving life. She is learning so many new things and even trying new foods. She loves bananas! She is getting to be more and more demanding of our attention and she is DEFINITELY a daddy's girl! She and her daddy have lots of funny without me when I'm away at work --not getting much house work done, but I can't complain! They're having fun and Gary is amazing with her and still manages to get his work-work done--even if it means being up til midnight sometimes. I'm just working part time in a model home so I'm only gone about three days a week--so far it's working out but keeping us very busy, hence the lack of blog updates. We are looking forward to a little break at the end of May, when we're going to Lake Mead with The Cannon's -- which brings me to the topic of the girl scout cookies...I'm going to have to work my tail off to get rid of the evidence tat I have consumed THREE boxes of the dang thing over the last two weeks...Does anyone else love Samoas as much as I do???HELP!!!

Baby Jogger

We have finally had some sunshine up here in the North Pole and it has been so nice to get out. Anyway, I wanted to say thanks to the Cannon sisters for the Merecedes of jogging strollers they gave us! It has been so much fun to finally put it to use. I have a feeling it will be used for a long time to come.

For all my expecting friends...I would recommend putting this on your wish list!

She's Getting Loud!

Lydia's newest thing is to squeal and scream out with joy! It is the cutest thing because it's obvious that she is so so happy and she's trying to express it! In fact, she decided to belt it out during church this week! That was a first for us. Luckily our congregation is highly populated with children so she didn't turn too many heads!

Six Months. Already?

Today was a big day for little Lydia. She had her six month well-check with Dr. Hull- who was so kind to spend a whole hour with us answering all of our questions. Over all Lydia seems to be really healthy and right on track developmentally. She did really well with those darn shots, but she was a little out of sorts this afternoon. The best part of the whole thing was after she and I had gone grocery shopping she decided it was time to take a nap and she WOULD NOT let me put her down. I tried several times then gave in to letting her sleep on my tummy as I laid in bed with her for an hour and a half. This is the first time she's been this clingy. I have to admit, I loved every second of it!

Other points of interest:

Solid Foods: Dr. Hull recommended starting her on some veggies such as carrots and sweet potatoes.
Fluoride: Now that she has two teeth, her Dr. ordered her some fluoride drops.
Lazy Eye: Thanks to my sis, who is a very in-tune mother (and aunt), we asked Dr. Hull about the lazy eye that Amy had mentioned and Dr. Hull said that Lydia does indeed have a slight lazy eye. We will have to take her to a pediatric optomoligist to sort this out. She may end up with some baby spectacles!
Constipation: Still trying to work this out. Dr. Hull recommended water and M of M, as not to turn her into a juice baby. We tried water in a starter sippy cup today and she ended up hitting herself in the head with it twice and was really mad about that!
Sleeping: Lydia's typical sleep pattern is 7pm to 3 or 4am and then until about 6:30 or 7am. Dr. Hull recommended we ween her off of the early morning feeding and that it would take letting her cry it out. We are hesitant to try this because we don't think we could stand to let her cry for mor than a couple minutes. Any advice on this one would be much-appreciated.

And lastly, the stats:

Weight: 17 lb. 3 oz. / 80%
Height: 26 1/2 in. / 80%
Head: 18" / off the charts (like mother - like daughter)

We are so grateful every day for our healthy little girl! We can't get over the huge blessing she is in our lives.
